The university recognizes the educational benefits of co-curricular activities and encourages students to participate in them. However, curricular activities are of paramount importance in a university education, and for that reason, ideally only full-time students who are in good academic and community standing are eligible to hold office in student government or in any student organizations, to serve on the staff of any student publications, to serve on any faculty committees, or to participate in intercollegiate athletics.
