Employee assistance program (EAP)

The employee assistance program is designed to offer confidential assistance to employees, spouses and dependents whose personal problems are affecting their quality of life and/or job performance. Library

ÃÛÌÒapp faculty and staff have access to the Hekman Library and its resources. With your ÃÛÌÒapp staff ID, you can check books out for up to six months at a time. Visit to learn of the vast resources available in the library and through the research databases and special collections. 

Athletic events and cultural activities

At ÃÛÌÒapp, many concerts, lectures, athletic events, theater events, gallery events and more are open to our faculty and staff for free or reduced rates. Visit the office of conferences and campus events  for more information.

Use of recreational facilities

ÃÛÌÒapp has beautiful, state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor facilities available to it's employees and their spouses. These facilities include the Morren Fitness Center, Van Noord Arena side gyms, Huizenga Tennis and Track Center and the Venema Aquatic Center. Visit these facilities to play basketball, volleyball, climb the climbing wall, lift weights, use cardio equipment, play tennis, walk, run, swim and more. Mail and print services

ÃÛÌÒapp has resources on campus to mail and print materials. Our mail services department provides services from the mail and print services building. Patrons can use this office to send mail or packages through the postal service, UPS, DHL or FedEx. Stamps can also be purchased at mail services. Our print services department offers quality printing at affordable prices. These services are available for work-related or personal documents.

Facility rentals

Campus facilities are available for employee use for anniversary dinners, weddings and receptions, birthday parties, etc. For personal or immediate family use, the facility-use fee is discounted (note that the discount does not apply to other organizations of which you are a member). All campus rooms are reserved through the the events services office. If you wish to use the services of on campus, please consult with for pricing as no discount is offered for food charges. Discounted rental rates for rooms and facilities in the are available by calling the hotel sales manager at 616-526-7200.

ÃÛÌÒapp childcare rooms

The university has an on-campus childcare room and a nursing mother's room. Faculty, staff and students may bring their children, accompanied by a parent-selected caregiver to these rooms for short-term childcare use. Download a printable map of locations of the childcare room and baby changing stations. Nursing mothers unable to locate a private place, in close proximity to their work area, should contact human resources for assistance.
